We the Disabled People’s Organizations (DPOs) and citizens of The Gambia whose names and physical addresses are hereto subscribed are desirous of forming an independent, non-profit, non-sectarian, non-political, developmental and non-governmental organization known as Gambia Federation of the Disabled (GFD), an umbrella organization representing DPOs….
Name
The meaning (GFD) stand for THE GAMBIA FEDERATION OF THE DISABLED in short the FEDERATION
Location
The federation is located in MDI road, kanifing south, The Gambia.
Operations
The federation office operate five days a week from Monday to Friday by a admin secretary.
Regulations
Bye-laws and rules of the Federation as set and amended from time to time.
General Assembly
The supreme governing body composed of all members who subscribe to the aims of the Federation.
GFD's Status
The Federation is an independent, non-sectarian, non-political, non-governmental, non-profit making and developmental organisation and does not discriminate against any organisation or individual on the basis of gender, age, race, religion, disability or sexual orientation

GFD's external relationship
The Federation has develop and maintain official relations with the Gambia Government and its agencies, United Nations (UN) and its specialised agencies and organisations. The GFD shall also cooperate with other organisations representing or promoting the interests of Persons with Disabilities as well as those having a shared and common interest with those of the Federation
